Help when the connection feels off.

Start with the quick fixes below. If Tether still is not behaving as expected, email Bud with the details and you will get a human reply.

Pairing

Invite will not open

Ask your person to open Tether first, create or sign in to their account, then open the invite again. They can also enter the six-character backup code from the Pair screen.

Notifications

Nudges are not arriving

Confirm Tether is allowed under the phone’s notification settings. Remote nudges require a physical device, internet access, and a development or store build—not Expo Go.

Live touch

You cannot see each other

Both people must have the touch screen open and an active internet connection. Leave the screen, reopen it, and confirm the presence label says your person is “here now.”

Premium

Purchase is not unlocked

Open Settings and choose Restore purchases. Make sure the purchaser is signed in to the same Apple or Google store account used to buy Premium. Pair sharing may take up to a minute to refresh.

Small answers to common questions.

Does a nudge automatically open Tether?

No. The recipient chooses whether to tap the notification. Tapping it opens the shared touch screen; it does not send an automatic reply.

Does Tether track my location?

No. Tether does not request or use precise or approximate location.

Are live finger positions saved?

No. They are transmitted live between the paired devices so the touch points can move. Tether stores the resulting hold or nudge timestamp, not a recording of finger movement.

Can I connect with more than one person?

Not at the same time. Tether is intentionally built around one active private connection per account.

What happens if I archive the connection?

The active space closes for both people, new live touch stops, and the relationship moves to each person’s private vault. Existing moments are not erased.

How do I cancel Premium?

Open Tether Settings and choose Manage subscription, or manage it directly in your Apple App Store or Google Play account. Deleting Tether or deleting an account does not automatically cancel store billing.

How do I permanently delete my data?

Use Settings → Delete account and data. If you cannot access the app, follow the instructions on the account deletion page.

When contacting support: include your phone model, operating-system version, Tether version, what you expected, what happened instead, and whether the issue affects one or both people. Never send your password.
